Having a personal chef is often a perk only those making at least a six-figure salary can enjoy. Or at least that used to be the case in Madison before local culinary ace Lauren Montelbano started offering an affordable weekly meal service and private catering via a new moniker, The Vibrant Veg.

Nonprofit of the Month: Cook it Forward

In response to the global pandemic, Cook it Forward was founded in Madison by Joshua Berkson, Patrick Sweeney and Francesca Hong to tackle food insecurity in their community. “Our mission is to create an end-to-end distribution network to produce and distribute healthy, fresh meals for families, seniors, and those with disabilities experiencing food insecurity.”

Grace Wang is the founder (and self-described “petrepreneur”) of three-month-old Petphoria, which specializes in delicious and nutritious luxury dog treats. Plus, the company is committed to providing people living with disabilities the opportunity to learn basic job functions as they make all Petphoria treats by hand.

Katie Soyka is the owner and photographer at Katie Soyka Photography and is the market manager for The KNOW Women in Milwaukee. “After photographing the amazing women leaders, creators and entrepreneurs in the inaugural Milwaukee KNOW Book, I was inspired to be more involved [with The KNOW Women].”
