Ways to Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend kicks off a summer filled with activities at Lake Lawn Resort – both on the lake and on the lawn! The resort has a number of outdoor/indoor activities planned for the whole family. Memorial Day weekend is the time of year at the resort to kick off summer with outdoor and indoor activities for the whole family all three days including: the first of the year Lakeside Lawn Party with a “Memorial Day Weekend Pig Roast Cookout” on Sunday; three-, two- or one-night packages are available, and the Lakeside Pig Roast & Lawn Party is open to resort guests as well as day visitors; live Music by Blame the Drummer Duo from 4 to 7 p.m.

The American Legion will be having their annual Memorial Day Parade and Program on May 31. The procession will start at the American Legion and head to the Three Lakes Cemetery at 10 a.m. and the Memorial Day Program will begin at 10:15 a.m. in the Cemetery. 

The West Bend Memorial Day Parade starts at the corner of Main Street and Oak Street. It goes north on Main Street to Hickory Street, turns left on Hickory Street, turns left on 6th Avenue, and ends at 6th Avenue and Chestnut Street. Please join in celebrating and thanking the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.

Muddy Water Memorial Day with the Scottie Miller Band is a yearly tradition that has been maintained for the past 10 years. Between the beautiful multi-level patio, amazing food and drinks, staff, view of the river, and unforgettable live music, the event is truly a party you don’t want to miss. 

The American Legion & Auxiliary Post 437 has put together a massive Memorial Day program for all to enjoy and honor those who have served. The event will include free food and live music, and the celebration will take place at Westland Promenade Park in the new performing arts pavilion. 

The Tiki Beach Resort Memorial Day weekend celebrations are officially kicking off the summer season in Wisconsin, and locals and tourists alike are invited to come celebrate the long holiday weekend with drink and food specials, plus vibrant beachside entertainment! 

And while Memorial Day weekend might not have a reputation for food delicacies, the Chocolatefest is a Midwest community festival that proves the holiday might deserve more of a food reputation after all. The event, as insinuated by the name, is dedicated to the celebration of all things chocolate. Every year, the Burlington Chocolatefest brings a crowd of 35,000-plus visitors to the area to experience a weekend of fun, games, rides, cooking demonstrations and, of course, chocolate.
