27th Annual Lake Geneva Winterfest

From Feb. 2 to Feb. 6, Lake Geneva welcomes its 27th annual Winterfest–and is the staging ground for the U.S. National Snow Sculpting Championship, which hosts teams from across the United States. In addition to over-the-top snow sculptures, guests can enjoy plenty of frosty fun for the whole family.

During the U.S. National Snow Sculpting Championship, 15 teams from across the nation will craft gravity-defying massive snow sculptures, with winners being named on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 4 p.m. There’s also a People’s Choice Award, with voting locations inside the Riviera Ballroom and at the Lake Geneva Visitor Center across the street, with voting open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors can also vote online at www.visitlakegeneva.com/winterfest during the same time period. Sculptures remain on display until they melt.

The downtown district will be the site of a public art installation of 36 ice carvings, and event-goers can enjoy free entertainment and bonfires on Riviera Beach. Plus, the upstairs ballroom of the Riviera building will be open to the public on Saturday and Sunday for food and drink concessions and Winterfest souvenirs. There will also be a food truck on Wrigley Drive courtesy of Fiddlesticks on Wheels, a food tent in the visitor center parking lot staffed by Pearce’s Farm Stand, and a concession and warming tent in Flat Iron Park. There is even a convenient free shuttle service.
