First job: Sales person at a women’s clothing store at the East Town mall in Madison. Apparently, I was destined for sales.
Favorite ways to spend your free time in WI: I love being outside, whether it’s for a walk, a hike, a run, kayaking or just sitting on my patio with my family. Otherwise, I love playing in the kitchen and seeing what I can create. Cooking is a big hobby and passion.
Your biggest accomplishment and why: Hands down, building my territory, and new life, in Northeast Wisconsin. When I started working for Select Sellars nearly five years ago, I was going through some significant personal challenges: divorce, relocating and starting over completely. I had to work extremely hard in all areas of my life. Looking back now, it’s pretty crazy to see what I built while navigating my circumstances. The personal pride, sense of accomplishment and confidence I’ve gained since then has really helped shape me into the woman I am.
The biggest obstacle you overcame: Starting a new life when I got divorced. My world was turned upside down, and I really found out what I was made of. Turns out I was really the stronger one. I just didn’t know it because I was playing the supporting role the entire time.
Someone who inspires you and why: My best friend, Emily. She’s always been my beacon of light and sounding board when I need help finding my path. She’s the rock in our lady group from college and it seems she always knows what to do and say in any situation, fully composed and capable. She’s just one badass woman overall.
Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Stay curious and don’t be afraid to ask questions or say ‘I don’t know.’ Oh, and be very organized!
