Mom to: Lily, 7 months
Hometown: I am originally from Serbia but I currently live in Madison.
Favorite ways to spend family time in WI: Before Lily came into our lives, my husband and I loved hiking and kayaking. We are hoping to do the same with our little one this summer.
Your most rewarding motherhood moment: Love: unconditional and pure love! Every second spent with my Lily is a blessing, and every day is a new adventure. I am grateful that this little soul chose me as her mother.
Biggest challenge as a mom: As a musician, I enjoy a very unique and versatile career as a performer, teacher, entrepreneur, music advocate and arts administrator. However, it is a challenge balancing my growing career and family life. This is completely new territory for me, and I am still trying to find a way to make sure that I honor both sides of me, a passionate artist and a new mom.
A mother who inspires you and why: My mom, who is the strongest, toughest and the most kind and loving person I have ever met. I wish I can be as good to Lily as my mom is to me and my sisters.
Best piece of advice for a new mom: Buckle up and enjoy the ride. It can be hard at times but remember, you are their superhero!
Your biggest hope for your children: To grow up to be a kind, loving and honest human with a strong purpose in life.
How are you celebrating Mother’s Day? This year, Mother’s day is also my birthday soooo…lots of snuggles and cakes!
