Favorite ways to spend family time in WI: I love to soak up as much of the summer weather as possible, and enjoy boating and watersports with my family.

Your most rewarding motherhood moment: The coolest thing about motherhood for me is watching my daughter interact with the world as the unique and incredible person that she is. I love being able to nurture and honor the unique gifts and traits that make her, her.

Biggest challenge as a mom: I am constantly reminding myself to stay as present as possible in parenting. The busy-ness of the world is always pulling at us, and that can easily become overwhelming and distracting from what is most important: the ones we love.

A mother who inspires you and why: I’m continuously inspired by my own mother for so many reasons, but particularly because of her desire to work to become a better version of herself. She set an example for my siblings, and I that it’s important to never stop growing, learning and evolving…and that has made a big impact on the lives we have built as adults.

Best piece of advice for a new mom: Do your best to let go of the “shoulds” and the “supposed tos.” Trust yourself, and focus on doing your best rather than doing it perfectly because there’s truly no such thing. Also, give yourself grace above all else. Your best will look different every day (and it is always enough).

Your biggest hope for your children: I hope that my daughter lives a life that is fulfilling, impactful and joy-filled. I hope she is able to shine her light in a world that needs light more than ever. Beyond this though, I hope that she feels unconditionally loved every single day.

How are you celebrating Mother’s Day? Mother’s Day activities tend to look different every year for us, but my favorite part of the day is spending time reflecting on my daughter’s life. I love any excuse to look back at old photos and videos of her being her silly little self. And if I get to sleep in–that’s a bonus!
