Known as a quiet relaxation respite for 20 years, Sundara Inn & Spa in Wisconsin Dells has upped its feel-good game with a new treatment, the Wellsystem Wave massage. Sundara Spa is the first property in the Midwest to provide this unique offering.
The new massage menu option uses the heat and pressure of water to relieve stress and is a completely dry and touchless experience. Yes, a touchless massage! How does it work? Guests lay on a bed, similar to the texture and feel of a waterbed, which is heated between 80 and 100 degrees. Warm water jets move along the underside of the bed’s surface, giving the sensation of floating while guests benefit from a muscle massage of the shoulders, back, hips, thighs and calves.
The entire Wellsystem Wave process is guest controlled with a simple touchscreen with options to customize the water-jet pressure from low to high as well as massage stroke choices like kneading, rubbing or deep-tissue pressure. Touchscreen options can be modified during the massage should any changes need to be made. Additional benefits include a choice of aromatherapy, sounds (from hip and upbeat to uber-relaxing spa music) as well as LED color lights for various moods like recharge and relax. There’s also red-light face therapy available.
The Wellsystem Wave massage system is an open concept with a slight enclosure over the chest and head area. The entire process is incredibly quiet, and the slight whooshing sound of water underneath the surface adds to the relaxing atmosphere. Comfortable fitted clothing or a dry robe is recommended.
The Wellsystem Wave massage is great for guests who may not be as comfortable with a traditional massage, those looking to concentrate on more specific areas or if the regular massage schedule at Sundara Spa is booked.
