Aug. 1 to Aug. 11: Wisconsin State Fair 2024

Join one of the largest celebrations of Wisconsin culture, heritage and community spirit at the Wisconsin State Fair, which will take place from Aug. 1 to Aug. 11. The week-long event will include star-studded concerts, exciting carnival rides and delicious fried favorites. 

This year’s fair will be held in West Allis on a sprawling fairground covering 200 acres. The exciting event will run for several days, beginning Thursday, Aug. 1, and concluding Sunday, Aug. 11, offering visitors ample time to explore various attractions, exhibits, fair food and live performances. 

A stellar lineup of live performances is set to grace the State Fair Main Stage, including music and comedy acts. These artists include comedian Gabriel ‘Fluffy’ Iglesias (Aug. 1), TLC with Jordin Sparks (Aug. 2), Yung Gravy with Nicky Youre (Aug. 3), Brothers Osborne with Sara Evans (Aug. 4), Casting Crowns with Tauren Wells (Aug. 5), Kidz Bop (Aug. 6), Riley Green with Avery Anna (Aug. 7), comedian Charlie Berens (Aug. 8), Lauren Daigle with Andrew Ripp (Aug. 9), Foreigner with Melissa Etheridge (Aug, 10) and Happy Together (Aug. 11). Ticket prices vary depending on the show but start at $35.

For foodie-focused fair-goers, the Wisconsin State Fair will offer a plethora of delicious items to indulge in, including over 800 items to explore (like the highly sought-after Original Cream Puff) and over 100 new unique additions to this year’s fare lineup. Be sure to attend the fair on Crazy Grazin’ Days for discounts on your favorite fair food (dates to be announced). 

One of the biggest draws to the summer event is the agriculture showcase and livestock exhibits, which feature over 7,000 animals, from cattle and pigs to sheep and horses. Visitors can see these animals up close, learn about different breeds and discover what it’s like to be a farmer in Wisconsin. In addition to livestock, there are also exhibits featuring crops, vegetables and more.

If you are coming for the rides, get ready to buckle up for an assortment of thrills for all ages and adventure levels. Standouts include family-friendly fun and carnival games at Spin City (which features over 50 rides and 30 games) and intense thrills from staple attractions scattered across the park, including Ejection Seat (a slingshot-style ride shot over 100 feet in the air), WonderFair Wheel (a Ferris wheel 15 stories high with 36 vibrant gondolas overlooking the fairgrounds) and the iconic Giant Slide (a magic carpet ride on a burlap sack down a 200-ft. slope). 

Daily admission to Wisconsin State Fair starts at $13 for children (ages six to 11) and $18 for adults (12 and over). Discounts are given to military, seniors and veterans.
