Fragrant lavender is in full bloom at New Life Lavender & Cherry Farm set on 40 acres with sweeping views of the Baraboo Bluffs. 2024 marks this working farm’s eighth season, which runs through early October.
A great way to enhance your summer calendar is by booking New Life’s popular Farm to Table Wagon Tour. The experience offers a firsthand look at how sustainable agriculture works and how what is grown in the ground goes through a process to reach the kitchen table or the farm’s handcrafted skin products. The tour features an educational presentation, a guided tour of the fields, beekeeping, animal barns, the farm store, a wagon ride as well as a visit to the 8-acre wildflower sanctuary for bees and butterflies. (Farm tours run at various times Tuesday through Sunday, and advanced reservations are highly recommended. General admission is included in the price of the tour.)
New Life Lavender & Cherry Farm has 25 varieties of lavender, with peak season typically mid-June through mid-July, but many factors including weather can affect these times. Guests are encouraged to follow the website and Facebook page for weekly updates.
The farm boasts several events throughout the year including you-pick classes, Friday-evening light photography sessions as well as the annual Lavender Festival, taking place June 28 to June 29, just to name a few. New Life Lavender & Cherry Farm also grows eight acres of wildflowers throughout the summer and fall, offering spectacular ever-changing blooms.
A trip to New Life Lavender & Cherry Farm is not complete without a visit to the on-site shop and a taste of lavender-cherry pie. Available only Friday and Saturday, this slice of heaven is the farm’s signature treat and is not to be missed. Check out the homemade lavender ice cream as well as other baked goods including – new in 2024 – white chocolate-lavender cookies. The shop also sells lotions, soaps, lavender plants and much more.
Regular business hours are Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (June 1 to Oct. 5). Adult admission is $6 per person and children 5 and under are free. Tickets cover entry to the lavender farm, wildflower acres, a secret garden, observation deck as well as access to 25 acres of trails surrounding the farm.
