With Memorial Day around the corner, it’s time to plan how you will spend the annual holiday weekend. From events honoring our fallen heroes to sun-soaked summer bashes, the following Wisconsin events will keep you happy and busy all weekend long. 

Brat Fest

Madison

Nothing screams summer quite like hot dogs and brats fresh off the grill—and the Brat Fest in Madison, a k a the world’s biggest brat fest, is ready to give you the summer kickoff you have been needing. The fest, taking place Friday through Sunday, will feature a massive music lineup across multiple stages, a carnival with games and rides, firework displays, art vendors and, of course, some tasty bratwurst (including vegan and vegetarian renditions). The event is free, with donations accepted to benefit local charities.

Harley-Davidson’s Honor Celebration

Oconomowoc

Oconomowoc’s Harley-Davidson is throwing a Memorial Day celebration for those vets who are wild at heart. The motorcycle company is offering an honor ride event on May 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. that will take participants and vets on a motorcycle ride to the Wisconsin War Memorial for a day of live music, food vendors, a car and motorcycle show and much more to support our troops. Admission is free for vets and $10 per person for all other attendees. All proceeds will go directly to support The Veterans of Foreign Wars Unmet Needs Program.

Lake Lawn Resort Memorial Day Weekend Celebration

Delavan

Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan is offering discounted rates in honor of its Memorial Day weekend celebration, in addition to indoor and outdoor entertainment all weekend long. The lakeside fun will start May 27, with activities like bonfires, laser tag, water skiing and more leading up to the big lawn party and pig roast on Sunday afternoon. Tickets are $40 for adults; $20 for children ages 4 to 12 years old.

Music in the Park

Hudson

Gather the family and head to Hudson for a day of music in Lakefront Park. The event will take place Monday, May 30, from 2 to 7 p.m. with free admission, but donations are encouraged and accepted to benefit Freedom Park Community Center for veterans. The day will be spent with live music from Sailor Jerri, face painting, bounce houses, bean bag tournaments, games, food, drinks and more fun in honor of the annual holiday.

Jellystone Park Warrens

Memorial Day Weekend at Jellystone Park Warrens

Warrens

Jellystone Park in Warrens is offering its own weekend of events, from May 27 to May 30. The fun will kick off at 5 p.m. with an activity for everyone in the family, regardless of their age. In addition to the traditional available amenities like the lazy river, pool, volleyball, waterslides and hot tubs, the park is also offering a Memorial Day weekend parade, with three days of celebrating our veterans and fallen troops. This event is for guests staying at Jellystone Park Warrens only; veterans and active military members who attend will also receive a discounted hotel rate.
