August 4 to August 14: Wisconsin State Fair

It’s almost that time again! The beloved Wisconsin State Fair will be making its much anticipated return to the fairgrounds in West Allis from August 4 to August 14.

Come prepared to experience live entertainment, animal exhibitions, amusement rides and, of course, the endless array of unique foods and beverages at the Wisconsin State Fair.

The State Fair Main Stage offers a variety of live music performances from an abundance of genres, including country, classic rock, hip hop, and even iconic throwback tributes. Some headliners include Jamey Johnson (August 4), Zach Williams (August 8), Charlie Berens (August 10), Nelly (August 12), Brett Young (August 13) and many more. If you’ve attended the Wisconsin State Fair before, there’s a good chance you have some favorite food items to look forward to enjoying once again. With over 800 different food and beverage options, it’s a good idea to plan ahead and use the food finder tool to map out all of your must-eats. The fair offers everything from fluffy cream puffs to buttery corn on the cob, and some Dairy State classics include cheese curds, deep-fried Oreos, corn dogs and funnel cakes (all offered on a stick, of course!). And it wouldn’t be the state fair without crazy new food inventions that will be sure to blow your mind.

Be sure to bring friends and family members of all ages because there truly is something for everyone to enjoy. Animal lovers have the opportunity to experience a closer look at over 7,000 creatures at Wisconsin’s largest agricultural showcase. It’s impossible to miss the adorable baby cows, pony rides or the famous pig races. Thrill seekers meet their match at the amusement center, which features classic rides like the ejection seat, Ferris wheel and giant slide. Shoppers and browsers alike have the chance to cool down in the air-conditioned Exposition Center which has just about anything imaginable available for purchase by vendors.

The fair’s admission starts at $17 per day for ages 12 and up; and $12 for seniors, kids older than 5 and military personnel; and children under age 5 are admitted for free.
