Restaurant of the Week: Trouble & Sons

Trouble & Sons is a pizzeria in Whitefish Bay serving home-style pizza, classic Italian pasta dishes and a full bar.

Anne Marie Arroyo and Tamela Greene, the owners of MOXIE Food + Drink in Whitefish Bay, opened their second full-service restaurant, Trouble and Sons Pizzeria, in the fall of 2018.

The restaurant has a rustic Italian feel with a menu offering a selection of classic Italian appetizers, pasta and, of course, pizza. Among the many delicious house pizzas is The MOXIE, a salute to Trouble’s sister-restaurant, with basil pesto shrimp, feta cheese and tomatoes. The popular Sprout house pizza features fresh mushrooms, crispy, hand-peeled brussels sprouts, mozzarella cheese and a truffle glaze. Trouble & Sons offers a 10-in. cauliflower crust if you are looking for a gluten-free option.

For entrees, we loved the spaghetti carbonara with pancetta, garlic, peas, poached egg and creamy cheese sauce. You can also swap for gluten-free pasta on the entree dishes.

Trouble & Sons also features a full bar with craft cocktails (try The Troublemaker), draft beers and an exclusive, curated selection of Italian wines. And don’t forget to save room for their delicious tiramisu.

Family-friendly and comfortable, with outdoor seating available as well (when weather permits), Trouble & Sons is open for dinner from 5 to 9 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
