Restaurant of the Week: The Waterfront La Crosse

The Waterfront Restaurant and Tavern opened in La Crosse in 2006, bringing a new level of hospitality to the area.

The Waterfront Restaurant has an upscale interior restaurant, a tavern with an antique feel (perfect for happy hour), and a large patio with views of the Mississippi River, making it downtown La Crosse’s best riverfront hotspot.

The menu offers seasonal American cuisine that includes USDA Prime beef and fresh day-boat seafood, with a focus on the fresh, local and seasonal ingredients when possible – something Executive Chef Brian Plum is very passionate about.

Open for lunch Monday – Friday and dinner Monday – Saturday, the restaurant serves a variety of appetizer and entree options. For appetizers, the cheese curds are a great Wisconsin classic that is available on the lunch menu. For dinner appetizers, choose from fresh oysters, an artisanal cheese board or the soup of the day.

For lunch entrees, choose from sandwiches, salads, a quiche, shrimp tacos or a burger. Our favorites for lunch are the Faroe Islands Salmon and Mac & Cheese. For dinner, you can enjoy a New York Strip, 8oz Filet or Ribeye if you want to enjoy a steak. For seafood, choose from salmon, scallops, Alaskan king crab or the market fish. There is also a chicken dish, risotto or pork chop.

Regardless of what you choose to eat, you will be sure to notice the attention to detail and quality ingredients in everything they serve at The Waterfront Restaurant.

The Waterfront also hosts weddings and events – from intimate birthday celebrations, to wedding ceremonies and receptions, to large corporate events – they are sure to impress.
