Restaurant of the Week: Pier 290

Lake life goes hand-in-hand with nightly entertainment at Pier 290 in Lake Geneva. The restaurant is one of the few waterfront properties which offers a full beverage and dining experience year-round.

No matter the season, the staff at Pier 290 provides a top-notch experience to guests in terms of nightly specials and weekly events. The latest addition to the lineup being TEXAS Tuesdays—an evening that has a Tex-Mex menu, plus line dancing, on the last Tuesday of each month. Entrees like smoked chicken quesadillas and BBQ brisket dinner are complemented with featured cocktails, made with Tito’s Vodka or Casamigos Tequila as the base spirit. Don’t forget to order a slice of bourbon pecan pie for dessert!

If ambiance heavily influences the decision on where to dine out, several of the igloos that can be reserved at Pier 290 are right along the shoreline—providing a picturesque setting any time of day. And during peak hours, such as on the weekends, there is an outdoor bar for patrons inside of a heated canopy.

The restaurant surely sets the bar high in terms of customer satisfaction. So much so, that over Valentine’s Day weekend and Easter Sunday, lavish meals are served in the private dining room. Classic creamy lobster bisque with sherry is one example of an opening course, perhaps then followed by hearty main like beef tenderloin filet stuffed with duck sausage and roasted shrimp. Such dishes affirm no one leaves hungry at Pier 290—nor regrets coming back frequently for more.

Pier 290 is currently closed Mondays. It is open Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. To learn more, visit www.pier290.com.
