Restaurant of the Week: Blind Shot Social Club

“Another round” takes on multiple meanings at Blind Shot Social Club. Whether you’re a fan of golf or a delicious craft cocktail (with or without alcohol), the new Madison-based social club is quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite.

Driving down South Fair Oaks Avenue on Madison’s East Side, the restaurant’s modest outdoor façade gives no hint of its tricked-out interior—outfitted with indoor putting greens and ultramodern décor. Once inside, be prepared to hang for a few hours as the flat-screen TV’s in the golfing area are huge plus come fully loaded with 75 different course simulations.

If golf’s not your jam, snuggle in to a large chaise while perusing the mini-board game library. Cocktails over Scrabble makes for an entertaining evening out in a relaxed environment, especially for those who prefer to abstain from imbibing. One of the most unconventional aspects to Blind Shot is the large variety of non-alcoholic sips. The bar staff can serve up Manhattans, margaritas, Whiskey Old Fashioned and Rum Punch in OG renditions or with non-alcoholic spirits subbed in. Patrons can also try non-alcoholic wines like chardonnay and Champagne during happy hour, brunch or late-night hours on the weekend.

A high level of flexibility and approachability extends to the food menu as well. Being open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week makes grabbing a bite equally accessible to neighborhood residents popping out for date night as for club members wanting to get in a couple of swings while picking up an order of Morning Tacos before heading to the office.

No matter the time of day, there are multiple options on the menu for omnivores and herbivores alike thanks to rotating three-course weekly specials, in addition to the much-loved Good Morning breakfast sandwich being easy to modify with a vegan patty and vegan scrambled eggs for plant-based eaters. Gluten-free requests can also be accommodated for several staple items so come ready to chow down when hangry feelings arise—because owners Brent and Michelle Duvall have certainly “scored a birdie” with this new Madison biz.
