Hometown: Jefferson City, MO

First job: Lifeguard at a waterpark

Favorite ways to spend your free time in WI: I am an executive sponsor for the Young Professionals of Kohler Business Resource Group and serve on the Kohler School Foundation Board as well as the Sheboygan County Humane Society. I love practicing hot yoga, spending time with my three children and my kitty, Mango, whom I adopted last year from the Sheboygan County Humane Society. I enjoy the sunshine, being in the outdoors and close to water.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: Bringing people together and building the best team and support system around myself. Not one person can do everything. It is the magic chemistry of a group of people working together on a common vision and purpose that creates magic and change for the better.

The biggest obstacle you overcame: The pandemic was incredibly hard on our wellness community on many physical, emotional and mental levels. We shut down businesses and were in isolation. To be where we are today, seeing the business back open and thriving, continuing to build human connections and see movement come back to life brings tears to my eyes.

Someone who inspires you and why: My grandfather, Herbert V. Kohler Jr., who is a risk-taker, a true maverick and visionary for Kohler Hospitality. He has been an inspiration for many, as well. He is direct, daring and innovative.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Never stop believing in yourself. You must have grit, persistence and be internally inspired to keep moving forward in your vision. There will be times of failure and sadness, but there will also be times of great success and happiness.

Favorite quote: “An open body leads to an open heart and an open mind.” You must move your body to move trapped energy and be open to new beginnings.

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I hold a M.A. in Journalism with a certificate in Women’s Studies from DePaul University.

What makes someone fabulous: Being true and authentic to your heart! Life is too short not to enjoy all the blessings that surround us. Live with gratitude, work hard and live with purpose. Let your inner light shine bright.
