Fab Mom: Melissa Oftedahl
Melissa Oftedahl, mom of 9-year-old twins, is the social media coordinator for the Family Clinic of Natural Medicine and ADIO Chiropractic. Alongside Katie Buell, she is the co-owner of Everyday M&K, a lifestyle blog “Where food is simple, fashion is affordable, and life is better done together.”

Favorite ways to spend family time in WI: Our family loves to hike the Ice Age Trail with our dog, mountain bike at Blackhawk and go to the lake up north. We also love eating at Bar Taco, Mod Pizza and Compadres.
Your most rewarding motherhood moment: When I see my children making good choices. Whether it is being respectful, accepting or helpful, it makes me feel like all of the hard work it takes to teach them how to be a good human is actually working.
Biggest challenge as a mom: We have been going through some health issues with the girls this past year, and advocating for them and finding the right people to get on their health team has been the hardest thing I’ve done as a mom.
A mother who inspires you and why: My own mom! She’s my rock. She’s there for me when I need it. Whether it’s taking the kids so I can have some time alone or just listening to me vent, she’s always been there for me and I hope to be that for my girls.
Best piece of advice for a new mom: Do the best you can, and don’t compare yourself or your family to anyone else.
Your biggest hope for your children: That they grow up to be happy, productive and kind human beings.
How are you celebrating Mother’s Day: We will probably have brunch and hopefully spend the day outside!
