What would you say has been the most rewarding part of being a mother? Seeing who my children turn out to be. Every day they surprise me with little tidbits and personality traits that I know they didn’t get from me, but they have for truly being them. I’m so proud of who they are growing up to be, the type of friends they are, how they interact with strangers, etc. The little things in daily life I’m just so proud to watch.
Best piece of advice you’ve received regarding motherhood? “The days are long, but the years are short.” It’s so very true.
The biggest thing you’ve learned from your children is: They don’t need me to be perfect; they just need me to be their mom. It doesn’t matter if things don’t look like Pinterest shows motherhood to be. All our kids need is exactly who we authentically already are.
What is your ideal way to celebrate Mother’s Day? Spending time with my children, spending time with my mother, and cutting back on the hustle and bustle of everyday busy life. A quiet day of sorts.
