Juliana works as a social media coordinator in Milwaukee, and (unsurprisingly—given her expertise in the world of digital media) has garnered a following on social media for her beautiful glimpses into Wisconsin’s vibrant food scene. Whether it’s coverage of a local foodie event, a snap of a perfect glass of wine or a quick review on the newest food truck in town, you can find all of that and more on the “Jules in MKE” Instagram.

Your go-to spot for an authentic taste of Wisconsin’s unique cuisine: I can’t say that I have a go-to for Wisconsin food because I feel like Wisconsin and Milwaukee more specifically are made up of so many different cultures and cuisines. I know Wisconsin is known for things like cheese curds, beer and brats—but we’re a lot more than that too. I personally love a food hall situation because you can try a little bit of everything. Crossroads Collective is a must!

Biggest misconception about being a blogger/influencer in the food space: I think many people are under the impression that since my page is so promotional in nature, I must get all of my food for free or that I’m compensated in other ways. Quite frankly, the majority of my posts come from me casually going to a restaurant, enjoying it, paying for everything and just wanting to share. If I’m ever given anything or paid for a promotion, I’m super transparent in letting people know that.

One thing you’d like to see change (or rather, see more of) in Wisconsin’s restaurant offerings: I would love to see more variety. Cuisines that come to mind are Moroccan, Native American, Cajun, Portuguese, Persian, Puerto Rican, Columbian and Jamaican.

A Wisconsin-based chef or restaurateur who inspires you and why: Alexa Alfaro of Meat on the Street & Tatay’s (tah-ties) is such a powerhouse! I really admire her drive, transparency and tenacity.
