Earth Day 2022 Events to Know

Take a cue from Wisconsin’s top eco trendsetters and lean into a greener lifestyle this Earth Day—with the help of a number of different celebrations and events in honor of the green holiday.

Embark out on the Earth Day Candlelight Hike on April 22 at Retzer Nature Center in Waukesha County. The self-guided trail will allow participants to take in and better appreciate the beauty of the area just ahead of the year’s biggest eco celebration.

On April 23, head out to Wisconsin’s beloved Chippewa Falls area for a classic Earth Day cleanup—complete with supplies, area focuses and a chance to gather with local community members for a great cause.

The town of Lisbon is getting in the Earth Day spirit with a free tree giveaway on April 23—yep, you read that right! Stop by for a free tree at the town’s local community park to take home and plant in your own backyard.

And perhaps the best way to celebrate Earth Day is with some more interactive, green fun for the kiddos at Milwaukee’s beloved Discovery World. Children can learn all about the process of gardening, make their own Wildflower Seed Bomb to take home, sing along to Earth Day songs and connect with other likeminded eco world changers who are looking to make the world a cleaner (and greener) place.
