John Mleziva
John Mleziva might be recognized throughout Wisconsin as the genius behind State Line Distillery—a k a the locally-loved brewery responsible for adding a unique and (quite literally) spirited touch to the state’s culture. But beyond his role as the founder and head distiller at State Line in Madison, he’s also equally celebrated at home as a dad. Folks can always count on Mleziva to pour his love for life into everything he does—whether it be through his thoughtfully curated brews or just enjoying quality time with his kiddos.
What would you say has been the most rewarding part of being a father? Watching my eldest daughter grow into a compassionate and wonderful little girl. It’s amazing to see kids take the lessons we try to teach and use them to be kind humans towards one another.
The biggest thing you’ve learned from your children is: the importance of slowing down and taking in the awe of everything around us. Looking at the world through the lens of a small child is truly magical and allows us to see things in a new light each and every day.
