How did your love story begin? Kelly: We have known each other since we were kids, about age 12. We grew up not far from one another. He lived on a farm, and we had horses. We bought our hay from his family. That’s how we met. We both showed horses at the same shows and a friendship began. Once we got older, our friendship blossomed into love. Our romantic relationship started in high school. The rest is history.
Favorite thing about one another: Henry: Kelly’s kindness and beauty. Kelly: Henry’s sense of humor, strength and calmness in stressful situations and his unconditional love he shows me every day.
Favorite date night: Henry: Going out in Nashville to the honky tonk bars. Kelly: Henry bought me second-row seats to my favorite band, Zac Brown Band. We flew out to California. It was for our anniversary.
Favorite tradition you have as a couple: Since we’ve been dating, we have spent every July 4th at my parents’ lake house with my family. It started as just Henry and I, but now it includes our three kids.
What does your happily ever after look like? I feel like we have already achieved our happily ever after. We have three beautiful children that we are very proud of and love with all our hearts. Looking into the future, our goals are to stay healthy, happy and be able to enjoy our later years with the kids. Family and friends are very important to us.
