Fab Couples: Wisconsin

Chris & Sara Wright

Chris and Sara Wright, owners of Twelve29 wedding venue

Homebase: Hartland

How did your love story begin? Sara: We met while working together at Western Lakes Golf Club. I started there as a bartender for the course. When Saz’s needed help in the fall after a lot of their help went to school, I started helping out on the banquet side of things too. I took a liking to the event side of things and began going to school for it as well. Chris was a great mentor in helping learn the business firsthand to go along with my schooling. We became great friends over the years and after his divorce, we grew closer romantically. We had amazing chemistry not only as friends, but once we took the next step, I knew things had all happened for a reason. I fell in love with him, his children and the life we had together. Fast forward a few years and we welcomed three more children together and opened our own dream venue and are loving life with one another.

Favorite thing about one another: Sara: My favorite thing about Chris is how much he cares about every person in his life. It’s a rare thing to find someone that will give anything for someone else and do whatever is needed to make someone happy. He is truly a gem!

Chris: How loving and dedicated she is as a mother and wife, and her patience. She is also very unselfish and loves, no matter what.

Favorite date night: Sara: We don’t get too many date nights, but our favorite thing to do is go to our favorite restaurant called Palmer’s. It’s just down the road from us and has the best steaks, which we truly enjoy.

Chris: Getting cozy on the couch and watching TV together after being exhausted from work and all six kids. Otherwise, Palmer’s.

What does your happily ever after look like? Sara: We both enjoy working hard and for some reason, thrive off of the stress we create for ourselves. We’ve both talked about opening another venue location if the right space pops up…but also completely content with what we have now. We hope to do a lot of traveling in the future and explore what the beautiful world has to offer.

Chris: Happily ever after is now! So having more of this. This, this the rest of my life with her until we are physically no longer able. I plan to live well into my 90’s.
