How did your love story begin? Alexia: Really depends on who is telling the story LOL. We first met at a Memorial vs. Lafollette High School football game. His cousin dated my friend. He was just a good looking guy. I didn’t think too much on it. We saw each other again at the Dane County Fair; I remember The New Boyz were live in concert. The next morning, he asked my friend about me. The connection was instant. Later that year, I moved back home to Little Rock, Arkansas, and I would get in trouble for putting his picture as the screensaver on the family computer. (That is an important fact because I told my dad I would marry him one day.) When I moved back to Madison, I later found out he told his mom the exact same thing. The rest is seven-plus years of history. 

Favorite thing about one another: Aaron: My favorite thing about my wife is that her personality is truly electric. She has an incredibly kind spirit, and her aura radiates with love. She inspires me in so many ways to evolve and strive to be the best version of myself. Before I met my wife, I was stuck like Chuck in a pickup truck but, as I grow to know this woman, I feel more like Superman every day! 

Alexia: My favorite thing about Aaron is the impact he has on our children. Aaron is an wonderful father. As soon as the garage door opens, the stampede of three charges toward the door screaming in excitement, “Daddy, daddy.” The smiles he puts on all of our faces. Honestly, I do not understand how I got so lucky to find a man that is so loving and devoted to his family in the humblest of ways. His love and devotion + his cooking = happy wife! 

Favorite date night: Aaron: Sometimes having three kids can make going out on a romantic date a “challenge.” However, we have still had some crazy adventures. One of our favorite date nights usually is anything food related. Will travel great lengths for some good eating! One of our favorite spots in Madison is Ha Long Bay.

Alexia: My favorite dates are anything food related! We will drive hours for some good food. Any time we get as a family is always a lot of fun.

Favorite traditions you have as a couple: Alexia: Reading and dissecting books from our book collection while sipping tea after the kids go to bed. And our anniversary trips. This year would be our third-annual trip. Aaron becomes the best DJ on our road trips. We go to a new destination every year, whether it be driving up north to Door County enjoying nature, exploring the city of Detroit checking out new museums, or just getting in car and seeing where the road will take us for a new adventure. 

What does your happily ever after look like? Our happily ever after is one that seems to be constantly changing and evolving as we continue to grow and evolve as a couple. Professionally, we would love to expand our business the Goat Barber Club and move into a bigger location in the Madison area. Our wish is to continue to travel around the world experiencing different cultures, food and traditions. Egypt in particular is a dream destination for us; we would love to admire the beauty of the many temples and pyramids. We would also love to renew our vows with a beautiful ceremony in three years.
