Katie Buell is the marketing director of Buell Real Estate Group and the mama of two youngsters. Buell is also the co-owner of popular lifestyle blog Everyday M&K, which focuses on healthy living, affordable fashion and friendship, alongside Melissa Oftedahl.

Favorite ways to spend family time in WI: We frequent Pizza Brutta, Weary Traveler Freehouse and Bloom Bake Shop! We love to hang with neighbors and go to the lake in the summer.
Your most rewarding motherhood moment: When I see my kids being kind to each other and other kids. I think it’s a huge responsibility as parents to raise kind humans who care about others.
Biggest challenge as a mom: Being completely present when I am with my kids. I always have a million things going on at once, and I struggle to slow down and give them my undivided attention.
A mother who inspires you and why: I used to work with a woman named Keri Conway. She was in charge of all of the family and kids programs at my work, and I’ve never seen someone interact with kids like her. I worked with her for 12 years, and throughout that time I saw her raise three daughters that went off to college, got married and one had a child. The relationship she had with her girls was always the gold star standard for me. She’s an awesome mom.
Best piece of advice for a new mom: 1. Take the time to really enjoy them. When they act out, they probably just need some one-on-one time. 2. Don’t let your kids run the show.
Your biggest hope for your children: That they are truly happy.
How are you celebrating Mother’s Day: Probably brunch and planting flowers and possibly our garden.
