3 Ways to Support Madison-Area Farmers

Though Madison’s popular Saturday Market on the Square has been canceled for the time being, locals can still support their local farmers via Dane County Farmers’ Market. Here are three ways you can get your farm-fresh goods.

Currently, there are three ways to purchase goods directly from your favorite Madison farmers. Locals can participate in the Wednesday Local Food Pick-ups; simply pre-order and drive-thru for the safest and quickest market experience from 3 to 6 p.m.

Shoppers can also pre-order or shop on-site at the pilot Saturday Market at Willow Island, which just kicked off August 1. Patrons can pre-order and drive-thru during the designated hours (7 to 9 a.m.), pick-up on foot during the walk-up market (9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.), or shop for local produce and products from approximately 60 total farmers, bakers and more. Saturday Market at Willow Island is currently slated to take place Saturdays through November.

Or, patrons can buy directly from Madison farmers via on-farm pick-up, e-commerce or even home delivery. Check out How to Buy Directly from DCFM Farmers, which is updated weekly, for more information.
